Lords Vote Ahead
The House of Commons is to vote on Wednesday on their preferred option for reform of the House of Lords. At the moment it looks like ‘predominantly elected’, probably 80% elected 20% appointed, will be the option with the most support.
That’s if they can sort the voting procedure out so that they don’t end up with all options failing like last time. It’s fortunate for MPs that they don’t have cameras rolling in the chamber during unwhipped votes in the House of Commons. People do get awfully confused and there is a lot of wandering around before finally diving into the Aye or No lobby.
